What is True Love?

By Mba @mbartoloabela

The question was once again asked, “What is true love?” The answer is simple. True love is that which gives to another or others without counting the personal cost of giving. The epitome of true love is found in God the Father who sacrificed His only Son, so we would not suffer to the same degree and be separated from Him – Infinite Love – for eternity.

It is found in God the Son, Jesus Christ, who voluntarily chose to died for us on the cross at Calvary, after being immeasurably tortured. And it is found in the human Mother of Christ, the Virgin Mary, who willingly chose to suffer in union with Her Son and give Him to be killed in an atrocious way, so we could have life and return to live in the Father’s Divine Heart once again.

True love is also when you give yourself for another person or persons, without withholding anything appropriate under the excuse of various rationalizations. Anything less than the aforementioned is not true but false love – a sham – no matter what name it may be verbally assigned.
