What is the Max Level in Skyrim – Short Answer
Thanks to legendary skills, there is currently no level cap. But there are levels from which there is no benefit for continuing to level up
The levels from which there is no profit are
- 80: When all skills are at 100 and not legendary
- 252: When all skills are legendary and you have all perks
What do you get when you level up?
When leveling up, two things happen
- Increase your Health, Magicka, or Stamina by 10 points.
- Unlock one perk point per level gained.
That’s why we said that after level 252 it’s not worth it, because you can’t get more perk points. But it may be worth it for you, because you can raise your Health, Magicka, or Stamina without limit.
What is the Max Level in Skyrim – Long Answer
In the base game the maximum level was 81, since that was the level at which all your skills had reached 100. Although after the last updates you can make your skills legendary. So after reaching level 100, you can reset them to level 15, and farm skill levels again. The thing about resetting them is to get each and every one of the perks, and with them along with the skills at maximum level again, you can reach level 252. We say that from level 252 there is no benefit because you can not get more perk slots , at least for now.
Although apparently there is no maximum level for Health, Stamina, or Magicka, so if beyond the perks you want to increase said statistics, it is your decision. In our opinion it is not worth the effort it requires. But of course you will be more powerful the higher your Health, Stamina, or Magicka.
How to get to level 252?
The truth is that although you could still reach higher, the mere task of reaching level 252 is quite an odyssey. To give you an idea, you will have to do all your legendary skills more than 9 times, and you will have to complete a total of 164 skill mastery cycles. In case you want to calculate it yourself, for each mastery cycle (taking a skill from level 15 to level 100) it will give you 4,930 XP
