But do you know which is the largest ski resort in USA? The major changes are undone and the largest ski area in the United States is now Park City Mountain Resort.
The giant Vail Resorts operating the ski resort occupied Park City, as it was already running the Canyon Ski Resort next door. These 2 luxurious ski resorts are being combined to form a huge ski resort called Park City Mountain Resort. The major investment is adding a new "interconnect" gondola to connect the 2 resorts between Silverlodge Lift in Park City and Flatiron Lift in Canyon. In addition to this new lift, there will be major upgrades to the Kingcon chairlift which will transform it into a 6-person high-speed detachable chair and increased capacity. The motherload lift is being upgraded from the old fixed grip chairlift to a 4-person high-speed wearable lift, making it easier to access the slopes.
From the new interconnect Gandola it will be possible for skiers and riders to take off at the top of Pine Cone Ridge (allowing for snow conditions) and board the bottom for Thynes Canyon. There are also going to be new runs from Pine Cone Ridge to the Canyon Iron Mountains area.
So if you like skiing then you will love to ski on this one mountain. The new ski resort will have an area of 7300 acres, which is larger than the Well and has a great variety from green beginnings to blue intermediate pistes and black expert areas. The total combined lift will span approximately 23 miles and the vertical rise will be 34,400 feet. In total, 17 peaks will pounce downward, after examining views from above. The 14 bowls will be heaven in powder and after all this region of Utah, the USA receives an average of 355 inches of snowfall per year, so the chances of some epicure are high. More than 300 ski runs will be marked and more than 150 park facilities will be available for those who like to store their belongings in the area's parks. 8 semi-pipes including super pipes would also be ideal for those who like to get big air.
The entire resort is being called Park City Mountain Resort and will still be connected to Park City and Historic Main Street via the Town Lift. The old Canyon Village in Park City is being re-named the base area, but the ski parks that exit the village will be part of the Park City Mountain Resort.
