What is Next for A Quiet Place?

From the successful release of A Quiet Place: Day One to potential sequel ideas, discover what's in store for the A Quiet Place franchise.

A Quiet Place: Day One has been released to a successful audience in the cinema. That makes three films considered great by the genre audience and it is clear we will get another movie. The question is where can the franchise go next?

Today, I look into a few possibilities I would like to see from the franchise next. This will contain SPOILERS from the previous three movies, but if you are reading this, you will have seen the movies.

This is a list, not a ranking list.

What is Next for A Quiet Place?

Sound Returns

This is the most obvious choice for a sequel because it plays into the cliffhanger left by A Quiet Place Part II. The movie ends with Regan releasing the sound waves over the airwaves through the radio system. She saved her family and Emmett by doing this.

I thought this would be the first choice for the third movie, it was left ready to see what we get next now we have a better defence system against the aliens. It would involve the reunion between Regan and her family, and the potential of trying to return them to the island for added safety.

What Happens to Eric?

A Quiet Place: Day One sees Eric make it to a massive boat with Henri escaping New York City. There is a big group who are fleeing away from the creatures who can’t survive in the water. We know where Henri ends up on the island, but the question remains how long are they at sea and what happens to Eric?

We could see the group clash with another human group or see them have the creatures follow them along the shore. There is plenty of potential for where this one could go next. It would break the tradition of a more silent approach because the characters would have a more open communication life. Imagine we get a tight river area where silence becomes important again, as the threat becomes intense.

Origin Story

Now that we have three movies, it is time to start questioning where the creatures came from. It is clear they came from space, but are they from a ship, or just go through space? What attracted them to Earth, is it the radio signal sent in the past or a mission that disturbed them?

The old saying goes ‘In Space, no one can hear you scream’ so the creatures are used to pure silence. We could also dive into more of an alien vibe, dealing with a small crew that stumble upon one of the creatures who breed. There are so many possibilities for another genre twist on what we are seeing.

65 Crossover?
From the successful release of A Quiet Place: Day One to potential sequel ideas, discover what's in store for the A Quiet Place franchise.

Here is the wildest pick. 65 was created by the same writers and already proved to be in the same universe where multiple planets operate at different levels of evolution. We could enter a world where the creatures have devasted worlds before, including Mills (Adam Driver).

His planet’s technology could see him travel through time and space in a hunt against them. It has plenty of options for him to return or another world dealing with the creatures. This might get questioned for trying to make a movie universe, but this is for fun.

Day Two

If we return to the original family, we have seen the first attack on their small town. However, we never got to see how they set up shop on the farm and adapted to the silent life. Day Two might not be the best title, but there are plenty of questions about how the family got out of town and set up their home.

It could follow them working with other local farms, which is heavily hinted at in the first film. This would offer a chance to see how not everyone they worked with survived and would explain how they learnt about the waterfall for safety. The obvious problem where would be the fact the child stars have outgrown their roles now, so we would need to focus more on the adult story. It could focus on a neighbouring farm who arranges meetings in the waterfall giving the original family more of a cameo appearance too.

Around the World

We have only seen America dealing with the creatures. The easiest opportunity would be following other countries dealing with the threat. The possibilities are endless here and we could see so many different cultures, different first attacks and embracing the changes.

It is a simpler idea and could give a host of directors a chance to put their own stamp on their movies. We can embrace certain areas and show potential other weaknesses the creature possesses.

Travelling Away

In the previous movies, we have seen the safe set-up location and searching for help. We have seen the escaping from the big city and the chaos involved. What if we found a couple or family who were naturally separated and want to get back together? We could follow their journey in an alien-infested world and the different threats they face to get reunited.

This one could take us anyway in the world and deal with plenty of different problems. It could even become a television series that gives us more time to see the characters evolve. This could also introduce more human villains, as we have only got a tease of them in Part II and how they operate against victims.

Creature Evolution

The aliens have been destructive, but we haven’t seen much of what they want to do. Do they just want to kill, or are they feeding, or even breeding? What if they start evolving to adapt to Earth, becoming a bigger threat to the survivors?

We have seen a few of their weaknesses, but what if they adapted to the weaknesses and became even more destructive? In the past, we saw Tremors do this, and while that is more comical, it feels like these aliens have the ability to evolve to become a bigger threat.

These have been my fun attempts to guess where A Quiet Place franchise will go next. Which ones did you like and which ones would you like to see?
