Looking for a way to look glam but feel as comfortable as if you were in your sweats? You're in luck because this season velvet is a hot trend and a comfy one too! I saw this stretch velvet suit at Ellos and reached out and asked if I could have it and style it for the blog and wear this season. The jacket is lined but still stretchy and comfortable and has pockets. The pants have a wide waistband that is elasticized in back and pockets. I had the jacket and pants shortened by my tailor. Behind the scenes: I forgot my shoes for this photo shoot so wore the higher heels that I had on that day. I tailored the pants to work well with a lower heeled shoe so I could be comfortable all evening.
I added just a hint of sparkle - these are the same earrings I wore in this outfit post and find myself reaching for even on casual days. I bought this bag this summer and love how it's so small yet holds plenty (in there is an iPhone 8+, lipstick, a comb, a card holder with money and ID in it, and a small key ring). Banana Republic makes great accessories; I got this bracelet almost a year ago and love how it's super sparkly but very classic and tasteful. The lipcolor is my holiday go-to - Le Carmin by Lancome. Add the faux fur coat I wore in this outfit post and I'm ready to fight the cold while looking festive!
I chose to keep the look simple with a black crepe camisole already in my wardrobe, but with a simple suit like this you can really personalize it with your shell. Want to look more festive? Consider a silk shell in bright red or emerald green. Want to glam this up for New Year's Eve? Look for a shell with some beading or even all-over sequins. Wear the pants alone with a sweater, the jacket with dark jeans and a silk cami and heeled booties. All this versatility AND this suit is machine washable! For those who aren't familiar with Ellos, it's a Swedish brand that goes from size 10-34 and ships to the US and Canada.
