It's nice to take a break from heels every so often, but finding flats that fit is hard for me. From years of toewalking, I have thick padding on the balls of my feet and high arches so my feet are... not really wide but tall/puffy. My pinky toes fall out of most flats because they are so short, my feet don't curve like most shoes so Chucks and loafers cause pain after a couple hours, and lace-ups are usually too streamlined and hurt the top of my feet. I've tried on dozens of oxfords and brogues and none of them fit feet like mine. So when I saw these shiny silver ones from G.H. Bass & Co I had to try them. I've had luck with Bass shoes in the past, and was pretty excited that they had them in a finish that was more my style. Finally, oxfords that fit! They took a day to break in, but now they're quite comfortable. So comfortable, I think I have a new pair of concert shoes. I've worn them to work peeking out from under a pair of trousers, but this more how I wear them on the weekends. I'm looking forward to wearing these in, while they're fun now all shiny (Karl calls them my Tin Man shoes), I think they'll look pretty great come spring weathered and worn.
