When you're a style blogger, you spend a lot of time perusing online boutiques. And sometimes things catch your eye that you know you don't need. You tell yourself no, close the browser, move on. But it keeps sticking in your head. You go back, and the item isn't available in your size. You say that's Life telling you that you don't need it. And then three weeks later when looking for something completely different online you see it... and it's back in stock and only in your size and next thing you know you have a gorgeous two-piece gown in your closet and no where to wear it.

Yet. With something like this in my closet, I will find an occasion.

That being said, this is far more versatile than it may appear at first glance. This is two pieces and a non-formal or season-specific fabric. The top would look great with black ankle pants, ivory wide-leg trousers, a black midi skirt, as a shell with a black, ivory, or khaki suit. The skirt has a clean waistband and isn't too stiff so it can dress up and down nicely. Pair with a metallic linen v-neck, a band tee, a crisp white shirt, a black turtleneck, a simple ribbed tank, a denim jacket or denim shirt. Often times the pieces that seem the most statement-making can end up being the most worn in your closet.
