As I mentioned in this post, I wore a heck of a lot of denim jackets in my retail days. But that was far from the beginning of my relationship with denim jackets. In elementary school I'd steal my mom's Gap denim jacket, roll up the sleeves, pop the collar, and style with leggings and puffy socks. In middle school one of my favorite outfits was an acid washed calf-length denim pencil skirt and matching oversized jacket (I need to scan a photo of me in it for a #throwbackthursday post on Instagram, believe I styled it with bright blue hi-top Chucks). Come high school, I took that denim jacket and many more and custom decorated them - I sewed buttons or patches on the back, used markers to color trim and do whole designs on panels. I went for a long period of time without a denim jacket, but since I bought this one from J. Crew Factory it has gotten a lot of wear. I've thrown it in the washer and dryer twice and it still looks and fits great.
This jumpsuit I mentioned in several posts and have featured a couple times on Instagram (and a blurry shot from my BlogHer conference "What I Wore" post), but never on the blog. This has become a favorite, it's uber comfortable and easy to dress up and down.
I know it's helpful to actually see the garment under a jacket, here's the jumpsuit by itself. I went up with anXL Regular to have some extra space and less bum-cling or chance for, ahem, camel toe.
