So my birthday is 40 days from today.  It’s been said by a few people (ok, practically everyone I know) that I’m incredibly difficult to buy for.  Perhaps its because I value experiences over stuff or because there’s really nothing material I want for.  Perhaps it’s because regardless of the financial burden of starting my business last year, the quality of my life always makes me feel like the richest woman in the world.  But as friends remind me, birthdays are to be celebrated and 40 seems like a milestone worthy of some extra special celebration.  So I’ve decided what I want for my birthday.  Drumroll please…

Over the next 40 days I’m asking friends, family, readers, fans, clients, everyone to perform one act of kindness.  It can be random or planned, big or small, free or expensive, for someone you know or someone you don’t.  I don’t care how you do it but please do something nice for someone that you wouldn’t normally do.  Maybe you sit and listen to the stories of a senior citizen who just wants to be heard or you make a donation to your favorite charity.  Perhaps you hug someone who needs it or buy a lunch for the group of firefighters or soldiers sitting at the table next to you.  It doesn’t matter what you do, just do something kind.

I’m asking everyone to share their acts of kindness on the 1 Making a Difference Facebook Page.   and/or tweet them using the hashtag #1makingadifference  In return I will be performing an act of kindness every day leading up to my 40th birthday.  I too will be tweeting them and posting them to the 1 Making a Difference facebook page using the hashtage #1makingadifference

So big thanks in advance for the bday love my way.  It means the world to me and will go a long way in making the world a better place!
