What Happened to Monday
A Netflix Original film, What Happened to Monday is a dystopian film set in a time where overpopulation is killing the world. As a result, there’s a one-child policy (not all unlike China’s one that was recently eradicated) and siblings have become a thing of the past. However, a set of seven sisters are born in secret and they, named each after a day of the week, embark on a mission to survive until the policy is lifted, revising their single entity personality and recording one another’s daily activities to ensure complete success. Each sister may leave the family house on the day of their name. But then, a sister goes missing. The film may be a tiny predictable to cynical viewers *cough* my sister *cough* but I thought it was gripping, well executed and the actress is absolutely incredible.The Circle
Emma Watson’s film The Circle follows Mae (Watson), an everyday but brilliant girl that takes up a job at a tech firm. Once there, she quickly works her way up the company, working on a project that involves transparency, opening yourself up to the world with your every move filmed for the public to see and comment upon, on the premise that crime can be eradicated by being completely open. Sound familiar? I pretty much went into this film blind, interested to see more of Emma Watson’s work and I left feeling not too badly. The film doesn’t really ever reach ‘thriller’ levels as promised by its’ Netflix categorisation, but it makes for a fine Sunday afternoon watch regardless.The Michalaks
I have to say that the highlight of my weekends are vlogs by The Michalaks. Hannah, Stef, Grayson and new baby boy add a little something extra to my weeks. The 30-minute videos always leave me feeling like I’m part of their lives and I just have to comment on how awesome Stef’s editing is. If you’re not already subscribed, I must recommend that you do so!The Age of Adaline
After watching Blake Lively in Gossip Girl, I haven’t really felt compelled to scour the other titles that she’s taken up. I spotted my sister watching The Age of Adaline the other weekend and so decided to try it out for myself. In it, Lively plays a woman who finds herself unable to age, documenting the trials and tribulations and the truly remarkable life of Adaline. My only qualm about this film is that it doesn’t really reach a climax, it is simply a nice film to watch on a quiet evening.The Hitman’s Bodyguard
Harvey and I finally managed to go and see The Hitman’s Bodyguard over the weekend. A magical combination of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson made for a pretty great watch, although I found it hilariously dialogue-lacking in many parts of the film. All them shoot ‘em ups, eh? Regardless of that, I thought it was a pretty great use of two hours and it balances gripping action and tummy-hurting humor really well.lilsimsie
Another of my favorite YouTube channels, lilsimsie is a Simming channel run by Kayla, a US-based teen. She uploads new videos every single day which I can’t comprehend and uploads both Let’s Play videos as well as The Sims 4 building videos. As a massive The Sims 4 nerd, I find it really soothing and inspiring to watch her speed builds, plus her voiceovers are always littered with American high school tales which I find SO bloody interesting.What have you been watching, lately?

12.9.17 Somehow, I managed to skim almost all the way through August without watching a single thing. Madness, I tell you!
