Having an allotment lets you go through a lot of emotions, the advertised wisdom is that a lot if not all are positive and uplifting. But to experience the highs you have to have endured the lows so as to fully appreciate everything. Our lass is on the way to recovery after knocking herself out last year. It meant us having little enthusiasm for the allotment and obstacles to be removed such as sorting greenhouses we did for a while procrastinate.
My own allotment diary here, went into slumber but now we are both reinvigorated, one thing which really helps this is photographs. Memories skew, but photos show it as it was. You always push yourself to do more than what is probably already needed or happened in the past. Will this bare earth ever become full. Take a look back and let it give you hope.
