Welcome to Podcast Season 8 for GraceLife, Faith and Self Defense, Grace Martial Arts, and my Substack Newsletter! I look forward to seeing where God takes us this next year.
We have almost one-thousand podcasts from the previous 7 seasons – along with almost a thousand eBooks and three-thousand articles from our blogs and newsletter. While most of our podcasts come from those articles, I’m planning something different for Season 8. Rather than reading from the full-length articles, I’m going to record shorter podcasts that will be based on some thoughts I have from being an older Christian.
Moses wrote this in Psalm 90:10:
“The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
As I get closer to my 80th birthday, I’m thinking a lot about how I’ve spent my life and what I’ve experienced and learned that would be helpful for the next generation to know. I also look forward to the day when we ‘fly away’ to be with the Lord forever.
It’s been 55 years since I converted from atheism to Christianity, but I still remember clearly what it was like to be delivered from the power of darkness and conveyed into the kingdom of the Son of God’s love (Colossians 1:13). It’s a remarkable transformation that affects God’s children for both this life and for eternity.
