The President is considering a viable solution to the sanitary napkins issue faced by the Sri Lankan women due to the economic crisis, Children and Women’s Affairs State Minister Geetha Kumarasinghe told Parliament yesterday (21).
Kumarasinghe noted that there could be a reduction in sanitary napkin prices. The State Minister also said that a Sri Lankan manufacturer has agreed to provide sanitary napkins at a low price.
Kumarasinghe also said that a reduction in taxes imposed on the importation of sanitary napkins would also be a possible answer to the matter.
Kumarasinghe also said that she informed the President in writing regarding the increase in the price of sanitary napkins.
