Autumn arrived yesterday, that’s Fall for all my fellow american readers.
What does Autumn mean to you?
Autumn is end of summer, end of shorts and bikinis, end of sunbathing, swimming and being indoors…… Yes, being indoors. In Summer, temps in Kuwait creep up to around 130 Farenheit in some places…yes, really. By the start of August, we tend to only go out when we really have to. Now that Autumn is here, the dust is gone, thank god, the weather is starting to get cooler and there’s that autumn smell in the air but the things we don’t get are the rusts and the oranges and the reds, yes, we don’t really get that. We don’t have much greenery in Kuwait, the majority of shrubs and plants die by the end of August.
So what does Autumn mean for us in Kuwait?
Well, walking season is most definitely back, barbecues on the beach are back and schools are well and truly back. Everyone is back to work and that can only mean one thing- traffic, and by heck, there is a lot of it right now! Everyone is back from vacation, back to porridge, back to work, back to school. Traffic is chaotic.
I’m starting my 28 day Autumn Protein Diet today, yes really. I’ve been living on Tuna for the last week, I reckon I can do it. I’m going to alternative between Tuna, Grilled Chicken and Salads. I have 10 more kilo to lose to get into my size 12′s comfortably and inshallah by December, I’ll be down to a size 10.
I got a stepper yesterday and I plan to do thirty minutes a night while watching Will and Grace……oh yes and of course, I’ve still got my elliptical trainer that hubby bought me as a gift last year when I started my weight loss journey! I will try to do thirty minutes on it every morning after I have dropped Oodie off to school.
I wish I could share my before and after pictures with you, if I get to my target and I’m happy, I might just do that.
So many things to look forward to in the next few months, I’m going to enjoy Autumn minus the rusts and oranges! Happy Autumn Everyone!
