Happy Saturday, friends! It looks like winter isn't quite done with us here in the Nation's Capitol. But we have some great links to keep you warm ... or something 😉

If you don't listen to the Pop Fashion podcast you should, Allie highly recommends it. Kaarin and Lisa are friends, but this podcast is such a fun way to know what is going on in fashion - the news, the updates, the legal aspects, the state of retail. The podcast has been featured by Who What Wear, Refinery 29, Bazaar and more and just celebrated it's third year!

From the Pop Fashion podcast Allie learned about Tagwalk, a fashion industry search engine. Search by designer, season, city, or trend. It's a quick and easy tool and a way to totally get sucked in for a good hour looking at all the images!

Analytics tell me most of you are over 30... 😉 (you'll get it if you see it to the end)! Allie says: "I know that in the late '80s his favorite drink was seltzer with lemon because my sister and I called the 1-900 NKOTB fact line a hundred times. And yep, then the phone bill came and my sister and I both were grounded!"

Allie loved this piece from Racked; it reminded her of her journey to find her faux leopard fur coat, how she feels wearing it and how people react.

"For years, societal judgments about femme-style beauty hid my grandmother's lesson from me. Makeup is necessary as concealment but too much is deceptive, we are told. Jewelry and clothing exist to distract from our flaws. Our outsides must reflect our insides: ashamed. My grandmother's gaudy style drew attention to what it should have been hiding."

This season is all about denim and a lot of it is embellished, embroidered, distressed, and deconstructed. If you feel your style is too classic for trendy denim, take a look at this chic look from Cherie at Style Nudge. It makes me want to go out and get a pair of drop hem jeans!

'Dry Clean Only' is fake news. Learn the truth in this piece from Racked.

"Frog and Toad" was a favorite series of both of ours as kids. Allie says she "bought a set for Emerson; while she's moved on to chapter books she likes me to pull out the books when she's not feeling well so I can do my Frog and Toad voices. For a while I was considering a Frog and Toad tattoo as we call Emerson Toadie and my dad's name was Kermit (like the frog)." Interesting to learn a bit more about the man behind the stories.

So excited, is opening a pop-up shop on the 2nd floor of Pentagon City Mall here in the DC area this month! You all know how we love the line; we are SO excited to be able to shop their collection in person! Read more about it!

After three years Lorde is back! Green Light is the first single from her forthcoming album and while it's a peppy danceable track, it's actually about heartbreak. The song grows on you and after a few listens you may find yourself humming it in the line at Target!
