It’s supposed to morph into a real autumn this weekend so what are you going to do with that? Run the Wilson Bridge Half Marathon, see “Titanic” while overlooking the Potomac River. Come out to the Bowie International Festival and Takoma Park Festival.  Did I tell you that Rose Royce is performing in Hyattsville? Then there’s the 3rd Annual Taste of the Boulevard. Friday, September 30th

Movies on the Potomac at National Harbor showing  “Titanic.”  Movies begin just after sunset and it’s free to the public.  Lawn chairs are recommended, no coolers with food or alcohol are allowed.

Saturday, October 1st

Bowie International Festival takes place at Allen Pond Park, 3330 Lakeview Drive, Bowie, 11am-5pm.  Come see Chinese dragon, hear Celtic music, see dancers of Europe and Bolivia.  Enjoy the bands of Germany and Latin America, and the rhythms of Africa. There will be food from different countries and artisans selling everything jewelry, clothing and crafts. For the children, there’s an International magic show and lots of activities and games.  More information and entertainment schedule HERE

Ballet Theatre of Maryland presents “Storybook Theater.”   This performance includes “Alice in Wonderland” and “Excalibur” and a sneak peek of “Aladdin.”  Performance takes place at Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, 15200 Annapolis Rd., Bowie. 410-224-5644. $25, seniors $20, students and Bowie residents $15, age 11 and younger $10.

Rose Royce and the Delfonic Experience in Concert in Hyattsville.  Stop laughing at me.  Known for their hits “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” “I Wanna Get Next To You,” and more, Rose Royce performance live at Metro Points Hotel,  8500 Annapolis Road, Hyattsville, MD. I spoke with the promoter who SAID the tickets are $45 TICKETS HERE 

Taste of the BLVD at the Capital Center: 2-5pm across from Restaurant Row, there will be food tastings, kids activities, prizes, and entertainment.  Event hosted by Larry Lancaster from BET’s Comic View.  Guests include Gerald Scott & Co., Randy Roberts, J. Sunday, October 2nd

Wilson Bridge Half Marathon starts in Alexandria, VA and ends at the National Harbor.  Start time is 7:30am at the Mt. Vernon Estates and continues 13.1 miles to the final destination of National Harbor.  See website HERE for more details.

30th Annual Takoma Park Street Festival, downtown Old Takoma, 11:00am-5:00pm rain or shine.  Live music, artisans, 220 booths, Chevy Volt on display, food, crafts and more on Main Street.  See WEBSITE for more information.
