Posted on the 29 June 2013 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

1) Monsters University-15.2M Friday,  51M, Weekend, 175M Total

That’s a small decline, about 45% from last week. Pretty excellent for the Disney toon, which has competition next week from Despicable Me 2 starting on Wednesday.

2) The Heat- 15.0M Friday, 40.6M Weekend, 40.6M Total

Melissa McCarthy continues to be a powerhouse, opening her now “fresh” (64%) comedy even higher than this springs surprise hit Identity Thief. The Heat is operating with an A- cinemascore, and made a solid million from Thursday night shows.

3) White House Down- 10.5 Friday, 30.0 Weekend, 30.0 Total

Channing Tatum’s actioner isn’t hitting quite as hard as expected, but it on par with spring’s Olympus Has Fallen. The film is also operating with an A- cinemascore, which could help its legs.

4) World War Z- 9.3 Friday, 30.0 Weekend, 125.0 Total

World War Z is fighting neck and neck with White House Down for the 3rd place spot. World War Z is only dropping about 50% from last week, rather than a larger 55-60% drop that most summer actioners have.

5) Man Of Steel- 6.1M Friday, 20.0 Weekend, 249M Total

Man Of Steel can’t really hold strong against these new releases, and loses half of its business from last week again. Next weekend will only get harder with Lone Ranger and Despicable Me 2 both tracking well. Despicable Me 2, is currently tracking north of 70M, with Lone Ranger around 45M.

6) This Is The End- 2.7M Friday, 8.8M Weekend, 74.8 Total

7) Now You See Me- 1.7M Friday, 5.6M Weekend, 104.8 Total

8) Fast and Furious 6- 0.7M Friday, 2.5M Weekend, 233.5 Total

9) Star Trek Into Darkness- 0.5M Friday, 2.0M Weekend, 220.5 Total

10) The Internship- 0.4M Friday, 1.4M Weekend, 41.7 Total
