Weekend Box Office: ‘Martian’ Falls Short of ‘Gravity’

The Martian managed a huge opening weekend, but if early estimates hold, it falls just short of the 55.7M that Gravity pulled in on its opening weekend, setting the record for October. The Martian was given a stamp of approval by both critics and audiences, and should continue being a box office juggernaut for the remainder of the month.
