For some reason, internet box office prognosticators are not excited about this opening. It’s the fifth highest opening for both Denzel and Wahlberg in their careers. I don’t understand how that’s not a good thing. It also opened number one. And it’s not a franchise film (yet). I’d say it is a solid opening.
2) The Wolverine- 21.7M Weekend, 95M Total (5,536 PSA)
I would get really excited, but that’s a 59% drop from last week. Surprising, considering the film is well-reviewed, and has a good Cinemascore. Maybe it will level off next week, but with four new releases, it is unlikely.

Nothing to get excited about here. While not a massive flop, I would safely call this a disappointment. It won’t come anywhere near the gross of the original, much like how Garfield: A Tail Of Two Kitties couldn’t touch the original Garfield.

Biggest surprise of the summer. Word Of Mouth campaigns still work.
