It has already been 6 weeks since the NFL season started. That means it’s time for my week 6 NFL predictions.
San Francisco 49ers @ Detroit Lions- This is a very interesting game. The 49ers and Lions are two teams that have surprisingly great records. The 49ers are coming off of a 48-3 victory against the Bucs, and they are

If Frank Gore keeps playing well, the 49ers could give the Lions their first loss of the season.
on fire. Expect the 49ers to come out rolling and then hold off a late Lions comeback and give Detroit their first loss of the year.
Prediction: 49ers 31, Lions 28
Difference maker: Frank Gore

Saint Louis Rams @ Green Bay Packers- This one’s no contest. The Packers are absolutely rolling, and at home against an 0-4 Rams team, we should see a Packers blowout. Sam Bradford will have trouble getting out of his “Sophomore slump” and Aaron Rodgers will take over.
Prediction: Packers 41, Rams 14
Difference maker: Aaron Rodgers
Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons- Cam Newton has had a great start to his rookie season. Expect this game in Atlanta to be his first roadblock. This Falcons defense is looking to revive themselves after a defeat at the hands of the Packers. The Falcons have won 14 of their last 18 games at home. Expect nothing different on Sunday.
Prediction: Falcons 24, Panthers 13
Difference maker: Motivation

Indianapolis Colts @ Cincinnati Bengals- The Colts are 0-5 this year and have no Peyton Manning, they

Trouble, trouble, trouble: As long as Peyton Manning doesn't play, the Colts simply won't win football games.
seem to have no hope. The Bengals are surprisingly 3-2, and rookie receiver A.J. Green is having a great year with 3 touchdowns. With no Manning, there in no hope for Indy.
Predictions: Bengals 20, Colts 10
Difference maker: The Colts lack of Peyton Manning
Buffalo Bills @ New York Giants- Very rarely do we see an NFC West team go to the East Coast on the road and win. We saw it last week when the Seahawks beat the Giants at the Meadowlands. The Giants are angry, and expect their defense to be the difference led by a few Osi Umenyiora sacks as they defeat the Bills, who are 3-7 on the road with Chan Gailey leading the charge.
Prediction: Giants 24, Bills 17
Difference maker: Osi Umenyiora
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Pittsburgh Steelers- With Blaine Gabbert leading a struggling offense into Pittsburgh against one of the best defenses in the league, the Jaguars are no match. This will be a very defensive sided

Look for Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Wallace to hook up for a big touchdown on Sunday.
game, as Pittsburgh’s offense is not healthy, but in the end, Ben Roethlisberger will find a way to win. Expect the only touchdown in the game to be a long bomb from Big Ben to Mike Wallace.
Prediction: Steelers 13, Jaguars 6
Difference makers: Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Wallace
Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins- Things are looking very grim in Philly as the “dream team” Eagles are 1-4. Meanwhile, the Redskins are 3-1 and leading the NFC East. I think the inevitable will happen, and the Eagles will lose and go to a stunning 1-5. This is not because they are physically outmatched by the ‘Skins, it’s because psychologically, the Eagles are hurting.
Related: BACK TO FOOTBALL
Prediction: Redskins 28, Eagles 23
Difference maker: Psychology.
Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens- These are two 3-win teams, but are hardly equal. The Ravens have more firepower and experience on both offense and defense. Ray Rice should take over a Texans’ defense that has no Mario Williams. Also, the fact that this game is in Baltimore doesn’t help the Texans’ cause either. Expect to see an Andre Johnsonless Houston offense struggle.
Prediction: Ravens 31, Texans 13
Difference maker: The Texans’ lack of Andre Johnson and Mario Williams
Cleveland Browns @ Oakland Raiders- Coming off of an emotional win in Houston rolling the tragic death of

Just win baby: The Raiders will still be playing for Al Davis, so expect to see a Raiders victory.
longtime owner Al Davis, the Raiders are still playing for Al. This is the Raiders’ first home game since his death. His spirit lives on in Oakland, and I’m sure he will be watching this game from heaven. Just win baby, just win baby.
Prediction: Raiders 28, Browns 17
Difference maker: Al Davis’ spirit
Dallas Cowboys @ New Englans Patriots- With Tom Brady and Wes Welker playing at full-throttle, it seems impossible for the Patriots to lose. Unnecessary controversy has been surrounding Tony Romo and the Cowboys. After Marcus Spears said this: “Yeah, we’re probably going to get killed. They’re the greatest team ever to play football.” The Cowboys confidence can’t be at an all-time high even though they do have Miles Austin returning from injury.
Prediction- Patriots 38, Cowboys 21
Difference makers: Tom Brady and Wes Welker
New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Any team with Drew Brees starting at quarterback has an edge. The Saints should pile on the points against the Bucs, who are coming off of a 45 point loss to the 49ers.

If Drew Brees takes over the Buccaneers' defense, the Saints will win big in Tampa.
Look to see the Saints dominate in Tampa.
Prediction: Saints 34, Buccaneers 14
Difference makers: Drew Brees and the spirit of the Bucs 45-point loss.
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears- The Vikings haven’t looked to sharp this year, but neither have the Bears. Their struggling offensive line has allowed Jay Cutler to be sacked 18 times, which is the most in the NFL. This is a must-win for the 2-3 Bears, and if they want to keep their playoff chances alive they absolutely have to win. Good thing they’re playing a horrendous Vikings team.
Prediction: Bears 24, Vikings 10
Difference makers: Matt Forte and the Bears’ desperation.
Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets- This is a matchup of 2 struggling teams. One of them is struggling more than the other, though. With Chad Henne out for the season, and basically no offense, the Dolphins will be crushed by the Jets, who are in a must-win situation. Also, Brandon Marshall announcing his plans to be ejected in the 2nd quarter don’t help his team at all. The Dolphins’ defense hasn’t been to sharp on Monday Night Football this year, as in Week 1, they allowed 517 yards to Tom Brady. Mark Sanchez, are you listening?
Prediction: Jets 35, Dolphins 17
Difference maker: Mark Sanchez

NFC Offensive Player of the Week: Aaron Rodgers Defensive: Osi Umenyiora
AFC Offensive Player of the Week: Ray Rice Defensive: Darelle Revis
This is surely going to be another great week of NFL action, with many surprises in hand.

Aaron Rodgers is in for a huge game against a struggling Rams secondary.
I’ll end with a question:
Are you ready for some football?
