Despicable Me 2 is tracking for an amazing 35M opening day today (including last night’s terrific midnight take), which is way beyond the 15M that Lone Ranger is tracking. Still, considering that industry projections for Lone Ranger were 40M, that at least means that it isn’t underperforming in the way White House Down did last week. In another “impressive” news, Kevin Hart’s stand up film Let Me Explain is on track to rake in 6M today (which is pretty outstanding for a stand-up comedy film).
