Wedding Insurance...They Have Thought Of Everything

Wedding Insurance...They Have Thought Of Everything
I once had the occasion of having a friend of mine cancel her wedding the night before her ceremony.  Of course, we were all shocked by the turn in events and wondered secretly what had happened.  Then our thoughts wandered to the lavish wedding that was planned and the endless money her father had spent putting it together.

Now of course no parent would want their child to walk down the aisle with any reservations.  Hopefully you get that out of the way early and before the caterer receives his last check.  But if you are a parent hosting the upcoming event of your daughter's nuptials and you have reservations that fall on deaf ears...you can get wedding insurance.

I found a company called Wed Safe www.Wedsafe.com and for a fee they will insure a wedding up to $175,000.00  This also covers you for other unfortunate events like your wedding gown being destroyed, you wedding pictures being lost, or your caterer going bankrupt on the twenty third hour.  All things that are not pleasant to think of but if you are bank rolling this event you might feel better having some protection.
I did not get a quote on how much the insurance would cost because I believe there will be factors to consider such as amount of the wedding and where it is being held.  They do however allow you to receive a free quote on line so you can weigh the advantages of having the extra piece of mind.
For full disclosure, I have opted not to get the insurance.  I have no doubts that the day will go off without a hitch and if there is a glitch we will go with the flow.
Now if they only had marriage insurance.....hmmmmmmmmm.
