.Website may well be the next big new gTLD success story.

According to Radix the registry the operates the .Website extension there were 634 domain names registered during the Sunrise period which is opened to trademark holders.

With the 634 Sunrise domain registrations.Website has the second highest number of Sunrise applications of all new gTLD’s to date

A lot of the big brands grabbed domain names in .Website including Amazon, Apple, BWM, Chanel, Chopard, Dropbox, Escada, Facebook, Fox, Google, Gap, HBO, Ikea, Jimmy Choo, Johnson and Johnson, Linkedin, McDonalds, Microsoft and Yahoo to name a few

I think this is the first extension that Apple seemed to register a domain name for each of its products including, not sure I have seen that before.

There were some brands that I have not seen active in previous new gTLD Sunrises registering domains as well in .Website including a couple of dating sites and, The Broadway show producers grabbed, there were also registrations from Cariboucoffee.Website, Halmark.Website

A lot of product brand names were registered as well which I have not seen before in previous Sunrise periods.

Landrush opens in a few hours and closes on September 15th for .Website.

Radix the registry is hold a no risk landrush meaning your application fee (depending on registrar) should be fully refundable in the event you do not get the .website domain you apply in landrush for including if you are outbid in a landrush auction.
