On Thursday, September 1, Emi Yoshikawa, VP of Corporate Strategy and Operations at Ripple, talked about an important new partnership for her company.
Yoshikawa has worked for Ripple for more than six years. He tweeted earlier today about a new strategic partnership between Web3 Design Lab, which was set up by the design and marketing company btrax, and Ripple Labs, which is based in San Francisco, California.
In the tweet above, Yoshikawa said that Ripple supports and encourages “Japanese firms to use XRP Ledger in the launch of Web3.”
She went on to say:
“The XRP Ledger already has various functions, such as token issuance, DEX, and smart contracts under development, so we hope that it will be used in various Web3 use cases in the future! In particular, the point of differentiation of XRP Ledger is that it is an enterprise-grade chain that has been running stably for 10 years.“
In a news release, btrax Inc. of San Francisco said that it had “created the “Web3 Design Lab” as a new service aimed at reviving the Web3 industry for Japanese businesses on the global market.” Audio Metaverse, Inc. was started by Takahito Iguchi, who is now the CEO. Iguchi has been “named the service’s only adviser.”
Web3 Design Lab says that it “offers design services that help companies change by maximizing growth areas like XR, Metaverse, and NFTs in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, where the world’s most cutting-edge information and technology is found.”
Yoshikawa said that on August 19, the mayor of Fakuoka City and his staff met at the headquarters of Ripple.
Fukuoka, which is a city in Japan, is the capital city of the Fukuoka prefecture. It is also the sixth largest city in Japan, with about 1.6 million people living there (as of June 2021).
Yoshikawa posted on Twitter that Mayor Soichiro Takashima and some of his staff had gone to the Ripple office (in San Francisco). The Japanese part of her tweet roughly means the following in English:
“Today, Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima and his team came to Ripple HQ! Fukuoka is a city in Japan that is a leader in #Web3 projects. Today, people from the international division and the mayor of Fukuoka City, Takashima, went to the headquarters of Ripple. My highest hopes are for Fukuoka City, which is working hard on Web3.
Yoshikawa posted the following on LinkedIn on August 18 as a founding core member and adjunct professor at Kyoto University’s Blockchain Research Center:
Tomohiko Kondo from Ripple’s strategic partner SBI and I recently talked about the health of the crypto markets in the US and Japan, as well as a few new ways to use #Web3. The talk led to a two-part article in Forbes Japan.
Binance Academy, which opened on December 11, 2018, is the part of Binance that deals with education. What Is XRP Ledger (XRPL)? | Explained for Beginners is a video about XRP that Binance Academy posted on their YouTube channel on August 24.
This video talks about XRPL and XRP in the following ways:
“XRPL is a decentralized blockchain that can be accessed by anyone. It was made so that tokenized value could be traded as quickly as information. The XRPL is fast, scalable, uses less energy, and is stable. Since its launch in 2012, it has always checked transactions and can handle rates of between three and five seconds and more than 1500 transactions per second.
Transactions are affordable. The average fee for a transaction on the XRPL is less than a penny.
“The XRPL cares about the earth. It is the first blockchain of any size to get this kind of certification.
“The network uses a federated consensus mechanism to make sure that transactions are valid. In this system, a group of independent servers called “validators” must agree on the order and end of XRP transactions. As there isn’t a single participant who can decide which transactions come first, there isn’t a single point of failure. Instead, all validated transactions are done at the same time.
“XRP is the cryptocurrency that comes with the XRP Ledger. It is a neutral bridge asset that is best for payments everywhere. XRP is used as a medium of exchange to make international payments fast, cheap, and stable. Every day, billions of XRP are moved. It can also be used to buy and sell on XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange (DEX) or interact with tokenized assets.
“The XRP Ledger is mostly used for payments. Using the XRP Ledger, assets can be moved around the world. This means that money transfers for remittances, treasury payments, payrolls, and other cross-border payments can happen very quickly.
