On Sunday I took part in Sunderland Live's WearSlide event, one of three events I'm doing to raise money for St Oswald's Hospice.

Sunday definitely saw the better weather over the weekend, with Saturday being quite grey, wet and cold. Luckily it didn't put people off too much and they were still heading along to Herrington Country Park to take part, some even in fancy dress costumes.
Although WearSlide was the main attraction for the event, there were plenty of people hanging around afterwards, getting food from some of the vendor vans (the noodles looked really good) watching live bands play in the amphitheater and enjoying the sun. Capital FM were there providing a soundtrack for the slide and I assume some of their presenters/team will have taken part too.
After heading along to the press preview last month, I already knew what to expect. Luckily they added more water and soap to give sliders a better experience. I'm sure the extra water from the rain on Saturday gave them a speed advantage though!
