Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa when contacted by the Daily News yesterday said they are currently attentive to the concerns raised by all stakeholders involved in the protest at the Ruhunu University and assured that a resolution will be provided soon.
Commenting on the protest campaign jointly launched by the students, academic staff and the non-academic trade unions of the Ruhuna University, demanding the removal of Vice – Chancellor Prof.Sujeewa Amarasena, the Education Ministry Secretary stated that they possess a comprehensive understanding of the situation unfolding at the university.
“At the moment I am not in a position to discuss anything else but we are in the process of hearing the concerns of all parties involved and an appropriate decision will be taken soon,” he said.
