Will Smith used Sunday morning to honor his grandmother, who was a devoted Christian, or as the actor described, “she was Jesus’ girl!”
In a clip posted to his Instagram page, Will Smith shared how his grandmother, whom they called “GG” taught him a lesson about using curse words in his raps.
Smith explained that his grandmother found his composition book that he had his rap lyrics written (with curse words), but instead of saying something to him, she decided to leave him a message at the back of the notebook. Check out the note she left:
“Dear Willard truly intelligent people do not have to use words like this to express themselves, please show the world you’re as smart as we think you are, Love GG”
Back in 2015, while promoting his movie Concussion, Smith shared that his grandmother was his connection to God.
“My grandmother was really my connection to God,” Smith said, “She was my spiritual teacher.”
