Apple today is delivering an opening speech on the first day of its developer conference, and the company is expected to talk about a ton of software updates. WWDC is a virtual event this year, but you can expect the same amount of news, in a different format. AT 10:00 a.m. (1:00 p.m. in New York, 6:00 p.m. in London, 7:00 p.m. in Paris), you can watch the event while the company is broadcasting it live.
Rumor has it that the company plans to release new versions of its operating systems. Prepare for iOS 14 and its brother iPadOS 14, a new version of macOS, as well as updates for watchOS and tvOS.
But the most interesting rumor of the year is that Apple could announce a major change for the Mac. The company could start using its own internal ARM systems on a chip instead of Intel processors. This would have a ton of consequences for third-party applications running on your Mac as well as Mac hardware in general. Imagine a MacBook with a battery that lasts as long as what you get from an iPad. There may be other hardware news, like a new design for the iMac or some Tile-style hardware trackers.
You can watch the live stream directly on this page while Apple is broadcasting its conference on YouTube.
If you have an Apple TV, you can download the Apple Events app from the App Store. It allows you to broadcast today's event and review the alumni. The application icon was updated a few days ago for the event.
And if you don't have an Apple TV and don't want to use YouTube, the company also lets you stream the event live from the Apple Events section on its website. This video stream now works in all major browsers - Safari, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Of course, you can also read ClearTipsNews's live blog if you don't want to stop it all and watch a video.
