I love HHN. It’s easily my favorite event of the year. I’ve been going every year for the past five years now and if I have anything to do with it, I will never miss a year. This year had a great line up of mazes based on some of the hottest horror properties out there. Insidious and Evil Dead were two of my favorite recent horror movies, and with my new current love of The Walking Dead I was beyond stoked for this maze based on the third season that I loved so very much.

It’s great that this amazing and creative comic spawned such a successful show and now has spawned an amazing interactive haunted attraction for fans to experience. HHN Hollywood holds no punches. Every year its getting bigger and better. Every maze and scare zone is so detailed and handled with such love and care that it gives this halloween experience something that can’t be outdone in my opinion. The Walking Dead maze was no exception to this.

This year we entered the park 30 minutes early thanks to early access. We ran to the new backlot experience tram and ran straight to the Walking Dead maze after being terrified by the walker infested scare zone. We were literally the very first people to walk through the maze on the night we went. We were also the only people in the maze at the time we walked through. This is extremely rare at HHN as it is a very popular event and gets very crowded as the night goes on. So needless to say we were very lucky.

From start to finish we had the best time in this maze. It was scary, detailed and creative. It felt like walking through season 3. Any fan of the show couldn’t help but fanboy at all the easter eggs they had in there like the ringing phone or the leg being cut off. It also would be just as enjoyable to someone who had never seen an episode because who isn’t afraid of zombies? And these walkers were creepy! The make up and sets were seriously movie quality. The actors were on the top of their game, and the hoard of zombies scare was ingenious and unique.

If you have the chance to experience this event please treat yourself. Get there early and run to the Walking Dead maze first! Keep up the great work HHN Hollywood! Can’t wait for the next year.
