By Lwblog @londonwalksEvery Sunday we’ll pluck just one walk from the vast London Walks repertoire and put it center stage.
You can check out the full schedule at www.walks.com
But if you only take one walking tour this week, why not make it – in keeping with the season and our current blog series…
The Amazing Old Shops Walk
10:45a.m Saturday 19th December
Green Park Tube, meet by the Fountain in Green Park
Today's Saturday Morning Tour du Jour is laid on especially for Last Minute You-Know-What! In short, Attention All Shopaholics! Get ready for some high class retail therapy. And where the prices are stratospheric, well we'll indulge in a peck of window shopping and a pack of what-might-have-been! Credit cards at the ready. Here's what's on our "shopping list": some of the oldest and most fascinating establishments, all decked out in their Christmas finery: shops which supplied the real Evita with perfume, the suffragettes with food hampers and the Duke of Wellington with books. Shopers where you can buy an Eton College boater, antique toy soldiers, the best selection of the finest cheeses, handmade shoes - let alone a great hangover cure!!! Guided by Judy. N.B. the walk takes about two hours and ends near Green Park Tube.

Judy, a former academic, is one of the brightest stars in the London Walks constellation – and that's really saying something. Winner of the London Tourist Board's super prestigious Guide of the Year Award, she's a top flight, professionally qualified Blue Badge and City of London Guide.
