The Planes of Fame Corsair performs a flyby during the 2012 California Capital Airshow.  Post-war, this combat veteran Corsair was used as a Hollywood movie prop at the Twentieth Century Fox Studios until it was eventually acquired by Planes of Fame Air Museum in 1970.  The gull-wing design of the F4U Corsair makes the aircraft one of the most distinctive fighters of World War II.  First flown on May 29, 1940, it was the first single-engine fighter able to exceed 400 mph in level flight.  More than 12,500 of these warplanes were produced.
