My SoCal road trip to the Camarillo airshow conveniently had some aviation museums along the way. Paso Robles is the home to a very nice collection of warbirds, especially combat jets. Based on the F-8 Crusader, the Corsair II was developed as a replacement for the A-4 Skyhawk, with greater range and payload. The Museum acquired this Corsair in July 1998, after being trucked in from NAS China Lake. First fleet delivery was October 1966 with final retirement in May 1991.
