Vodafone-Idea Has complained to the telecom regulator TRAI about the other two rival companies Jio and Airtel. Vodafone-Idea has written a letter to TRAI complaining that both these telecom companies are offering unlimited 5G plans. Earlier in 2016 also Jio had offered free unlimited 4G before commercial launch, which was complained by other telecom companies.

Vodafone-Idea says that due to the predatory pricing of 5G, it will not be able to compete in the market. However, both these telecom companies clarified to TRAI that this offer is being given to the customers to adapt to the 5G ecosystem. Come, let us know what is the whole matter…

this is the case

According to ET Telecom’s report, Vodafone-Idea has written to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) complaining that both Reliance Jio and Airtel are offering unlimited 5G at predatory pricing. In his complaint, VI has written that both these companies are big market players, cannot offer unlimited 5G for free. After the complaint of Vodafone-Idea, TRAI had sought response from Jio and Airtel on this.

TRAI team is investigating

On the question asked by TRAI, Airtel and Jio have clarified that they are not offering unlimited 5G data for free to the customers. Users are being charged for 4G pack. The cost of 1GB 5G is very low as compared to 4G. According to the report, a TRAI official has said that a notice has been sent to Jio and Airtel for this. Soon, a decision will be taken on the Vodafone-Idea complaint. At present, Niamh’s legal, finance and technical teams are investigating it.

The regulator had asked Jio and Airtel two questions regarding Vodafone’s complaints, which included predatory pricing and unlimited 5G offers. At this time Airtel and Jio have launched 5G service in more than 600 cities of the country. However, the number of 5G users of both these telecom companies is very less.

5G service started in India in October last year. Jio, Airtel and Vi participated in the auction of 5G spectrum held last year, but Vi has not yet launched its 5G service, while both these companies are engaged in providing 5G service to all the district headquarters and cities of the country.
