Due to the closure of cinemas due to the coronavirus, the CNC authorized 5 new recent films to be released soon on VOD, DVD, Blu-ray.

Following the closing of cinemas on March 15 caused by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), several films released before the health crisis saw their exhibition in theaters interrupted. Pursuant to article 17 of the emergency law of March 23, 2020, the President of the National Center for Cinema and Animated Image (CNC) therefore announced that, exceptionally, "A reduction in the operating time in cinemas provided for in article L. 231-1 of the cinema and moving image code, for broadcasting on video on demand on a fee-for-service basis or for use on videographic media . "
After having granted this exemption to 47 films, the CNC brings this figure to 52 with the addition of 5 new recent works released between January and March 2020. The CNC again exceptionally relaxes the media chronology to allow these feature films to release earlier on video-on-demand, or DVD / Blu-ray. Note that usually, a film cannot be released on VOD before 4 months after its theatrical release (with the exception of a film having chosen a Direct to Video release). This measure follows the wish of several distributors to make their films available as soon as possible.
