Vivo Origin OS Launched, Better Than Funtouch OS?

Vivo Origin OS finally announced with lots of customization and enhanced user experience. The Chinese tech company has introduced the Klotski Grid system, 26 navigation combinations, Multi-turbo 5.0, and many more upgrades. Vivo Origin OS update will roll out in a three-phased plan starting from the last week of January 2021.

1). Klotski Grid System

The main difference between Funtouch OS and Origin OS is the introduction of the Klotski Grid System. In this widget system, the home screen is filled with a clutch of widgets that can be rearranged as per the user preference. Each widget displaying some of the information such as message, notification, weather updates, etc. Users can also tap on each widget to get more information and controls.


Additionally, These widgets will provide Nano Alerts that constantly updates information such as upcoming flights, weather information, courier tracking, and more.


2). New Live Wallpaper

Vivo Origin OS comes with lots of new wallpaper concept. The company has decided to show elements of the weather in the form of live wallpapers instead of showing planets and surfaces that look quite attractive.


3). Enhanced Memory Fusion Technology 1.0

The Chinese tech company provides a three-step process called Enhanced Memory Fusion Technology in its Origin OS. With Enhanced Memory Fusion Technology, The User Experience will become better and smoother because of the three-step process including memory integration, process optimization, and application pre-loading.


4). Navigation Combination

Vivo Origin OS arrived with 26 new navigation combinations that cover nearly all mainstream operation methods. These gestures can be easily executed by just clicking and operating. Plus, User can also access SuperCard — a mobile payment tool, through the new navigation gesture.


5). Multi-turbo 5.0 technology

For performance, Origin OS includes the support of the Multi-Turbo 5.0 feature. It enables apps to boot with less memory. This feature can be allotted an additional 3GB of RAM for usage by adroitly arranging data to the flash storage.

Vivo has also introduced a new pull-down menu that lets the user control their IoT devices. Furthermore, Origin OS also includes critical public alerts such as earthquake alerts, pandemic information.

  • Jan 2021 – Vivo Nex 3S, Vivo X50 Pro, Vivo X50 Pro+, Vivo X50, Vivo S7, iQOO 5 Pro, iQOO 5, iQOO 3, iQOO, iQOO Pro, iQOO Neo 3
  • Feb 2021 – Vivo Nex 3, Vivo Nex 3 5G, Vivo X30, Vivo X30 Pro, iQOO Neo, iQOO Neo Snapdragon 855 Edition
  • Q2 2021 – Vivo X27 Pro, Vivo X27, Vivo S6, Vivo Z6, Vivo Z5i, Vivo S1, Vivo Z5x, Vivo Z5, Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition, Vivo Nex S, Vivo Nex, iQOO Z1X, iQOO Z1


This schedule is only applicable to the China region for now. However, The company is yet to announce the information related to the global launch of Origin OS.
