Futsal, a variant of association football that is played on a smaller pitch and mainly played indoors, is certainly not known for its moments of stunning violence. After all, the surface, (weighty) ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces. But every sport possesses a wrong ’un or two. Like this complete and utter nutter flagged up on the World of Sport blog:
The Guardian Classic YouTube round-up blog deemed it “without a doubt the most deserving futsal red card ever.” It’s pretty much impossible to disagree. Over 620,000 people have viewed the clip on YouTube since it was posted 16 April 2012.
