Vinz Ideas: Best of 2014
2014 has been a very surprising year for me. This is the year when I entered the Online world and created my very first website which is vinz ideas. It all started with the passion when I wrote my very first life testimony. At first, I'm a struggling writer, having no direction of what I really want to achieve with my skills. I'm still a working progress, I'm not a good writer, not even close. But I found my voice and security when writing. I feel like I'm being the real person when I put my emotions and thoughts into words. Writing has a lot of powers, I already discovered most of them and I'm very excited to other things that it will going to reveal.

Today, I compiled the top 12 articles that made a big impact in my life and to the life of other people this 2014.

Do you like the current condition of your mind? More importantly, would God like the state of your mind right now? What if it were possible to have a mind like Christ's?

I was reading the book "The Mind of Christ" by T.W Hunt and I just want to share with you the list of adjectives from the New Testament that describes or implies what the Christian's mind is to be like. As you read what the New Testament says about the mind, check your mind to see if these adjectives describe you.

As I assessed myself based on these concerns, I realized that I was deciding and acting in line with my emotions and the wants of my flesh versus the Spirit. There are a lot of instances I have failed with my commitments, not because I meant to do it, but because at the moment when I declared my "YES", my spirit was on a high, and my heart was set on doing it. Even when everything seems to be in order, there's no assurance that I'll end up doing it when my emotions strikes. Sometimes, I end up doing it out of pride, since I don't want anyone to judge me as a man who's not true to his commitments. Even then, I end up doing it unwillingly. Not keeping true to my commitments, money struggles, and judgment from others are just some of the examples of my inner battles between flesh and spirit. Our life is a constant battle and we really need to be led by the Spirit and not just by our own strength.

Dealing with difficult people is one of the most challenging task for us, Christians. If your focus is not with God, you'll instantly fall into Satan's trap. Satan's strategy is to put you in a situation where your relationships are at stake. If we let ourselves be driven by our emotions, that relationship with other people will be ruined in an instant. We need to stop, assess ourselves, ask for guidance, and most importantly, pray. But we cannot do it with our own strength, we really need to ask help from God and work with the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

In every aspect of our lives, we have crucial decisions to make. It doesn't matter how small or big it is, all I know is that it will definitely make an impact in your life or in the life of others. In our daily living, we all make decisions. Even though it may seem like a small decision, it's still a decision. Every day when you wake up, you decide whether you're going to pray or not, but as a Christian, prayer should be a lifestyle. On your way to work, you decide whether you're going to take the bus or the jeepney. When you're hungry, you decide what food to eat and not to eat. You decide what to do next, where to go and what you'll do with your time. Every second, we are making decisions we aren't even aware of most of the time. If in every tick of the clock and every moment of our lives we are making a decision, is there such a thing as small or big decision? How does it affect our life here on earth and how does it influence other people? Or what do you do if you have a decision that other people do not agree with?

For the past two months the feeling of being spiritually dry has overtaken all aspects of my life. It has especially affected my relationship with the Lord. I found myself having a hard time doing my daily devotions and prayer time. I felt like a part of me lost my passion in knowing God more. My heart and my mind was empty and as much as I want to win God back, the urge of being world-centered has gotten stronger and harder. God knows how desperate I am to be in fellowship with Him again.

Looking back to a year ago, I have already been in this same situation. It took me almost six months to go running back to Him and I never thought that I'd be in the same situation again. I know that some of you will say that I should know better, since I've already been here before. But if you were in my situation, you'll see that it's much harder going back the second time around. The urge of the flesh is stronger, more disobedient that it's become much harder to be in His presence again. The road just seems blurry. There were nights where I just poured out my heart to God and cried out to Him in desperation. And it seems as if God chooses to be silent because here I am, feeling hopeless, talking into a cave and all my words are just bouncing back to me. But then, in one of my devotions, God revealed to me all His reasons and hindrances.

Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur, marketer, and inventor, who was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. He is also one of the fathers of the personal computing era. Although he died at the early age of 56, he will remembered for ushering in fundamental changes in the way people interact with technology, he has also been known for his ability to turn a phrase - and a knack for taking complicated ideas and making them easy to understand. Below, a compendium of some of the best Steve Jobs quotes.

7. An Open Letter to My Two Little Sisters

The reason why I decided to dedicate my article today is because I really miss both of you. Time flies so fast and I can never imagine that we are all grown-ups now. Everything seems different these days. We're all now taking our own paths of life. We can now decide on our own and we can now choose the things that we think is best for us. We now have our own carreers, and little by little, we are making our way to the success that we once dreamed of when we were young.

When I started going to college, I was just like any other normal student. My only real concerns were my classes; everything else I did was for fun. I learned to value the education when I started out working in the corporate world.

After 6 years, I had the opportunity to go back to school and continue my studies. But this time it's a different me, with a different perspective, as I learned a lot of things from my journey being a normal student to corporate worker and now as a working student. Here's a collection of college tips and bits of info that helped me a lot.

It's already been five months when I decided to go back to school again. First semester has ended and I never imagined how it went by so fast. A lot of unforgettable moments in college has happened in the span of five months. Realizations, experiences, values and learnings - these are the four aspects of life that I discovered and developed as a working student and as an individual. In this article, let me share with you the things that I learned during the first semester which I think most of the working students can relate to, and what life taught me.
