Vintage Inspired Liverpool Wedding

By Lovegetssweeter @LoveGetsSweeter

The Richmond in Liverpool is now officially one of my favorite venues after I had the pleasure of filming Gail and Fran’s wedding there last year. Not only is the venue beautiful, with it’s art deco inspired interiors, but the staff were amazing! But before we even got to their wedding reception at The Richmond we had the important job of seeing Gail and Fran tie the knot at the magnificent St George’s Hall in Liverpool’s City Centre…

I started the day filming the girls getting beautified at Minsky’s on Bold Street while Scott headed over to film Fran with his family at their home. The mornings always start off calm and with lots of chilled out people but then when the time comes round to start getting dressed you feel the anticipation fill the air and it can get a little panicky! For the Groom’s side it got a little manic when the champagne nearly went everywhere! Panic happened for the ladies back at The Richmond but I was able to step in and help out when needed (I’ve always been very handy with sticky tape…) and before we knew it we were ushering everyone in to the hotel lobby to await the wedding car, a VW camper van!

The short journey to St Georges Hall was a fun one as strangers waved to the bride passing by. We were running a little late so the ladies were swiftly escorted up to the ceremony room and before we knew it the string quartet had started playing so it was time for one last deep breath…

The ceremony was a little emotional, especially when Gail shed a few tears reading out her personal vows but, when they made their way down the aisle as husband and wife there was nothing but huge smiles from everyone!

Drinks were enjoyed in the gorgeous entrance of St Georges while family posed for group photos. The couple even managed to sneak off with the bridesmaids and best man to get some photos around the Hall. Guests then made their way to The Richmond where they were treated to some live vocals and a tasty afternoon tea (the scones were to die for). Gail even stepped up to the mic as a surprise for everyone and sang a gorgeous version of Etta James, At Last.

Speeches were next and they had everyone in stitches. Gail couldn’t resist saying a few words and read out a poem she’d written. Plenty of laughter and tears throughout!

Guests were then moved to the downstairs room where a photo booth awaited them! The bride and groom nearly knocked the cake over while trying to cut it with a sword and then took to the dance floor to show off their amazing skills. If that wasn’t enough Gail then did a little flash mob with her girl friends to really get the party started!
