Vintage Escapism, Novel Ideas & A Farewell

By Ventipop @ventipop

I'm going to close out the Grind today by saying goodbye to one of the men who helped me escape the world at least once a week. Writer, Director and Actor Garry Marshall died yesterday at the age of 81. He was the creator of The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley plus many more. He was the driving force behind movies like Pretty Woman, Beaches and one of my underrated favorites The Flamingo Kid. More than anything though, Garry Marshall was genuinely likable. He seemed like a guy who just wanted to bring joy into people's lives. His career spanned half a century, but his work will be remembered and cherished for far longer.
