Every year for weeks on end I try to imagine what form or shape Vincent’s Christmas will be. Of course, he never gives me a hint, just to say he’s very excited about it.
Christmas finally arrived last Thursday morning and I anxiously started to unwrap my gift. Again it was like no other gift before.
It was a series of colored and clear Plexiglas panels, each with a message on them and the end one an old photo of us from New York most likely from the 1990s. (The photo recently surfaced when my friend Julie Brumlik posted it on Facebook. Thanks Julie!).
The words are a little hard to make out in the photos so here they are.
I should tell you that…

All the other gifts he gave me paled by comparison, even though I loved them and they were so thoughtful. There is nothing more special than Vincent’s art gifts, I cherish each one and hold them close to my heart.
I wish I had a special room just to display them.

I am happy to announce the launch of Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes. Come take an ethnic culinary journey with me and chef and caterer Charlotte Puckette, co-author of the bestseller The Ethnic Paris Cookbook (with Olivia Kiang-Snaije). First we will shop at a Paris green-market for the freshest ingredients and then return to Charlotte's professional kitchen near the Eiffel Tower to cook a three-course lunch. After, we will indulge in the delicious feast we prepared along with hand-selected wines.
Cost: 185 euros per person (about $240)
Time: 9:30AM- 2PM (approximately 4 1/2 hours)
Location: We will meet by a metro station close to the market
Class days: Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday,Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
