Off-spinner Vidushika Perera had fine figures of 4 for 18 in her 6-over spell as Ratnawali BMV Gampaha recorded an easy 9-wicket victory over Anura MV, Matara, in their Girls’ Under 19 quarter final cricket fixture played at St. John’s grounds Panadura yesterday.
Ratanawali MV chasing a target of 75 runs saw their openers Vishmi Gunaratne 28 in 16 balls with (3 fours and six) and Hasini Weerasinghe (21 in 19 balls) with 3 fours were involved in a solid stand of 62 runs in 5.4 overs. Skipper Vishmi Gunaratne who created a record knock of 417 runs in their early game and Sandili Weerasinghe with an unbeaten 11 sealed their victory with 23 overs to spare.
Rathnawali BMV Gampaha, Wadduwa MMV, Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda and Devapathiraja Ratgama qualified for the semi-finals.
