As all the fans saw on the night of May 18, 2012, True Blood shot in New Orleans. We posted lots of photos from Twitter about the filming and many of those in the streets were used as extras and got to watch Alexander Skarsgard and Stephen Moyer horsing around.

On May 18, 2012, we wandered up on the crew of HBO’s True Blood filming a scene for season 5 (summer 2012). After finding a perch on the balcony of Krazy Korner (Bourbon and St Peter), we sat and watched (and filmed) the crew shooting a dozen or so takes of the scene posted here. This may or may not ever make it into the series, but it was interesting to spend about an hour watching. We’ll see if it makes it into one of the shows this season or ends up on the cutting room floor. No real spoiler here - all of this makes for about one minute of marginally consequential show time… Interesting to see what goes into filing a TV show though!
It’s still fun to see Alexander Skarsgård give Stephen Moyer a piggyback ride at the end!
