Grammy award winning rapper, Lecrae stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning where he talked about not considering himself a Christian rapper or a gospel artist, but a hip hop artist, whose faith bleeds out into his music, the Blessings rapper went on to reveal that people don’t know what box to put him in, and that’s why he named his last project “Anomaly”
He continued,
“I didn’t grow up in church, Lecrae revealed when asked if people try to put him in the Christian rapper box.
“I didn’t grow up in none of that, I don’t know gospel hymns, my first gospel album was the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. When you are articulate about your faith, people don’t know what to do with you, so it’s like you’re an anomaly, so that’s why I called my last album Anomaly.”
