[VIDEO] Janet Jackson Credits Her Family with Positively Impacting Her Life

Janet Jackson, who  was honored with the first ever Impact Award at the Radio Disney Music Awards over the weekend, credited her family, including ailing father Joe Jackson with impacting her life.

During her acceptance speech Janet recognized her parents and siblings.

“If I have been fortunate enough to impact others it is only because I, myself, have been greatly impacted by positive people in my life,” Jackson said, “My mother nourished me with the most extravagant love imaginable, my father, my incredible father, drove me to be the best that I can.

“My siblings set an incredibly high standard, a high bar for artistic excellence,” she added. “Sometimes, having an impact can be as simple as a smile, a handshake, or a hug,” Janet shared with the audience.

Last week it was announced that Janet’s father was in the final stages of cancer.   Let’s continue to keep the Jackson family in our prayers.
