Maricel found me online and later on she also learned that I made her friend’s wedding gown in Manila (another blushing bride, Johanna Santos). The really interesting thing about her is she actually works in an oil camp (yep an oil camp!!!) all the way in Alberta, Canada. Something I would only see in Discovery Channel. So this badass woman asks me to create her wedding dress and she was willing to take the risk without ever meeting me, without ever going to Manila for a fitting. I mean EVER. Naturally, I had to somehow warn her about the risks but she was just so confident so I set to work and it was all systems go! For Maricel, our team created a long-sleeved gown in illusion tulle with a beaded lace bodice and flowy skirt with a high slit on her thigh.
Utter relief and joy took over when I read this wonderful wonderful message from Maricel. My entire team including myself were just so grateful we were able to deliver to the level of her expectations.
“Hi Camille,Hope all is well. I just got home yesterday and tried my dress on. I don’t need any alteration! It’s beautiful and perfect. Love the sleeves and details. And the slit gave it a sexy but still elegant look. Simple but not really simple. It might take a couple or 3 months after our wedding before we receive photos from our photographer but once we do, i will send you some copies. Thanks a lot Camille. You did a great job!”Photos: Jesse Holland
