Made my first visit to the British Columbia Aviation Museum and got up close and personal to this restored TCA Vickers Viscount, the largest aircraft in their collection (until the Lancaster gets assembled). Beginning in 1954, Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA) was the first North American airline to employ turboprop aircraft. By 1958, TCA had an operational fleet of 51 Viscounts. TCA (renamed Air Canada) retired their Viscounts in 1974. First flown in 1948, the Type 700 was the first production version, with 287 built.
