I have a few clients that are Vegan, and as a trainer or health coach I always recommend a high protein diet that usually consists of meats. But you can also find protein in a variety of food if you do not eat meat. Here is a list of some great protein options if you are vegetarian :

-Chickpeas
-Edamane
-Cottage Cheese (1%)
-Veggie Meat
-Black Beans
-Greek Yogurt
