The Caprese is a simple italian salad. Its name comes from the Italian region Capri. It is usually made of Bufala Mozzarella, tomatoes and basil and is seasoned with basic ingredients like olive oil and salt. We at NoGarlicNoOnions would like to give you variants for this exquisite antipasti.
The base of the recipe is:
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes
- 3 pieces of Mozzarella Di Bufala
- 1/2 cup of fresh basil leaves

The variants:
Traditional Caprese:
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Fine sea salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste

- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Avocado and Pine Nuts Caprese:
- 1 cup avocados, halved and sliced lengthwise
- 4 tbsp of toasted pine nuts
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tsp whole grain mustard
- A pinch of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste

Blueberry Caprese:
- 3 tbsp balsamic cream
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp fine sea salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cups fresh or dried blueberries
Parma Ham Caprese:
- 150 g Parma Ham
- 500 g Ruccola
- 8 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 tbsp Balsamic Cream
- 1 tbsp Fine Sea Salt
N.B: This variant can be easily used in a panini.
