“We met over 10 years ago at our small home town Davenport, Iowa where we were both born and raised. Michael was a friend of my older brothers and we had many mutual friends. I always found Michael attractive but never thought twice about it. Michael messaged me on social media one day and we met up two weeks later and it was like love at first sight. Michael and I moved to the beautiful Sunshine state Florida 2019. 2021 Michael proposed to be on one of the beautiful beaches in the United States Clearwater beach with dozens of roses”, the bride shared with us.
“We wanted simple but also elegant since it was taking place in the beautiful Santorini Island. We wanted more of neutral colors because of the colors already in Santorini from the flowers and buildings. I wanted my dress to be different from many brides. I wanted sleeves and was going for more of a cathedral look since we were in the Greek islands. I used Pinterest to decide on ideas and I wanted a bouquet with mixed of light neutral colors some roses and different shades of pinks and some hints of greens”.
“I worked with the owner Lila from our amazing hotel Athina Luxury Suites months coming before our trip to decide on the decorations since it was only going to be just my husband and I we did not want to overdo it but wanted to still have it look beautiful to be able to remember it. Lila from the hotel was able to set up everything from my vision, from the flowers and coordinating with the celebrant for us”.
“I then did some researches in photography because we both knew we wanted our special captured especially being in one of the most beautiful island. I saw a lot of photographers did not have availabilities because it was considered the “winter” months of Santorini and a lot do not work during the winter months. I saw Aggelos Kastoris Photography works and really loved his works. I saw he did not have availabilities but I personally reached out to him on Instagram and I received an immediate response back on he could capture our special day. Working with Aggelos was so amazing, he is so personal and really is so talented. We spent a few days one the island prior to our wedding day. When it came to our wedding day it could not have gone any better. We had the most amazing and most magical day…”

“My dress is Galina designed dress from David’s Bridal. When trying to decide what kind of dress I wanted. I wanted a dress more fitted with my body figure and I wanted it to be different from most brides. When we decided on having our wedding in Santorini Greece- it then gave me an idea I wanted to go for more a cathedral look and a dress with sleeves since it was in the winter months. I started to look online because I wanted to be able to have the least stress and overwhelming moment just to decide my dress. I went to David Bridal’s twice and tried a total of 4 dresses. The dresses I tried on were all from what I saw online. When I tried on my dress I knew it was it. It was me and everything I wanted in my dress! It also gave me some feels of how my culture’s traditional dress looks like- which is a Vietnamese Ao Dai. I paired it with a cathedral veil and it was the perfect look”.
“I would say we did not have a big wedding because we wanted it to be more intimate and sentimental to us. We wanted to be able to remember all the details from the day. So for the brides dreaming of the big fairy tale wedding consider how you want to remember your day whether having a small or big wedding it makes a difference. After talking to a lot of our newlywed friends they shared having a big traditional wedding it was hard for them to remember all the details of the day with so much going on and having to talk to every guests you miss out on the special moments. Marriage is about love and commitment and about the two of you. We are happy to say we made the best decision!”
