Using Remote Pc Strategies Know Like The Pros

Posted on the 12 March 2022 by Dailyglamor

How often do you hear someone say they want to get rid of their PC? The answer is simple: too often. PCs are the backbone of our society, whether we realize it or not. They allow us to communicate, play games, watch movies, shop, and even run our businesses. In short, without them, life would be very different.

There are two main types of computers: desktop and laptop. Desktop computers are bulky and heavy, whereas laptops are portable and light. Both types of computers have their advantages and disadvantages. For example, desktops are better at multitasking and running multiple programs at once, but laptops are easier to carry around.

A computer is a device that allows you to interact with data stored on a storage medium. Computers store information in the form of binary digits (bits), which are either 0 or 1. This information is then processed using software called an operating system.

1. Remote PC

A remote pc is a computer that is connected to the internet via a router. A router is a device that allows your computer to connect to other computers on the internet. This can be done through wireless connections (Wi-Fi) or wired connections (Ethernet). There are many different types of routers, but they all work in the same way. They allow your computer to access the internet and share files with other devices.

 2. VPN

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN creates a secure connection between two computers over the internet. This means that no one else can listen in on your communication. Your data is encrypted before being sent across the network. Once it reaches its destination, it is decrypted and then displayed.

 3. Router

Routers are used to connect multiple computers together. Each computer has its own IP address, which is how the router knows where to send information back to each individual computer. Routers have built-in firewalls that prevent unauthorized users from accessing the internet through your home network.

What is remote pc?

A remote pc (also known as remote desktop or remote access) is a physical personal computer to which a user does not have physical access but user still can access them via internet. Unlike servers, remote computers are mainly used for peer to peer connections, where one device is unattended. A remote computer connection is generally only possible if the both devices have network connections.

Is remote pc free?

It’s a freemium software or application. User can use it for free also they can buy premium subscription. Price may varies for different subscription package or different developer. People buy premium subscription of a remote pc for unlock full features and more flexibility.

How much does remote pc cost?

As I said before remote pc is a freemium software. But some of them have only premium options.

What is ‘Best’ for you; Accessibility would tend to specify Windows as the ideal system, via the remote desktop application/protocol.

There is also VNC which can provide the capability to see a remote desktop, but may not provide the capacity to interact with it.

Then there is powershell which (now) provides the use of OpenSSH to remotely manage and run commands through as a primary shell.

If a computer is a part of a domain, there are a lot more tools at your disposal to resolve issues, and improve automation processes.

Likewise GPO (Windows Server) can also be used to remotely install and/or administer a Windows computer platform.

So it depends on what it is YOU plan to do remotely.

Is remotepc safe?

Remote PC offers high end security and data control features with which specially your data is protected with every aspects. It prevents vulnerabilities and manage session and user authentication activities. Best for companies because only an authorized persons/members can authenticate. Your data, files, passwords and each and every stuffs are encrypted with every end. The real-time protection provides real time securities like the user will be logged out and will have to re-authenticate after after 15 mins of inactivity. After 2 months of account inactivity your account be be suspended but you can recover it later and this happens to prevent your accounts from malicious activity and help Remote PC to manage inactive accounts.

How can I connect my remote PC into my router network?

1.   Make sure that your router has Public IP address assigned by your ISP (many home ISPs use private IP space for home users).

2.   Setup the VPN server on the router

3.   Setup dynamic DNS updates for your router if needed (if your router has some kind of dynamic IP assignment by your ISP).

4.   Setup VPN client on the remote PC and VPN profile to your router’s VPN service.

Actually - it is the main idea behind VPN, not emerging to the internet as if you are somewhere else as many people think.

Remote Desktop Connection

Every Windows version beginning with Windows XP includes an installed Remote Desktop Connection client. With Remote Desktop Connection, you can access a computer running Windows from another computer running Windows that is connected to the Internet. For example, you can use all of your work computer’s programs, files, and network resources from your home computer, and it’s just like you’re sitting in front of your computer at work. To connect to a remote computer (your CSU PC), that computer must be turned on, it must have a network connection, Remote Desktop must be enabled, and you must have network access to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet). The steps may vary slightly between the different versions of Windows. Where necessary we illustrate the difference with Windows 7 on the left and Window 10 on the right.

Your Remote Computer (CSU PC)

Step 1

Windows XP: The ‘System Properties’ dialog box will open. Click on the ‘Computer Name’ tab.

Windows 10: Right click the windows icon in the start menu. (Bottom left corner). Then select system

Step 2

Windows 7 : The ‘System’ dialog box will open. Copy the Full computer name for use later on.

Windows 10: The ‘System’ dialog box will open. Copy the Full computer name for use later on.

Step 3

Windows 7: Click on ‘Remote settings’.

Step 5

Windows 7: Click on the ‘Allow this computer to be controlled remotely’ checkbox. Then click on ‘OK’. Windows 10: Make sure the ‘Remote Control’ box is checked. Then click ‘OK’.

Your Home Computer You now need to set up your Remote Desktop Connection at home and tell your home PC to which remote PC to connect. Below are the instructions for both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Step 1

Windows 7: Click on ‘Start’, ‘All Progams’, ‘Accessories’, then ‘Remote Desktop Connection’.

Windows 10: In the windows taskbar search remote and ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ will pop up.

Step 2

Windows 7: Click on ‘Options.

Windows 10: Click on ‘Options’ dropdown

Windows 7: Follow steps above

Windows 10: Follow steps above

Step 4

Click on the ‘Connect’ button to connect to your remote PC (CSU PC).

Windows 7: Click on the ‘’Connect’ button

Windows 10: Click on the ‘’Connect’ button

Step 5

Enter your ‘User name’ (7 digit CSU ID), ‘Password’ (CampusPass) and CSUNET in the ‘Log on to’ field to connect to your remote PC (CSU PC). Click on the ‘OK’ button. You will now be connected to your remote PC (CSU PC).

Step 6

Once connected to you remote PC, a ‘bar’ will appear across the top of your remote connection screen. On the right side of the ‘bar’ is three buttons. With these buttons you can:

 · Minimize your remote connection so you may access your home PC.

  • "It didn't always work right away or was difficult to get the person on the other side of the phone connected."

“Affordable, Easy Way to Remotely Manage PCs”

Overall: RemotePC is a very affordable and easy way to manage a small network of PCs remotely.

Pros: RemotePC is just like TeamViewer, but affordable - especially for a small network. It's easy to use and pretty intuitive. It allows for remote WOL, disable remote input, send remote commands, file transfer, and complete unattended access of a remote PC. Remote PCs may be accessed by web, computer, or mobile app.

Cons: It's hard to find any cons with RemotePC. The WOL feature could be better, but nothing else that I can think of is what I would consider a con.

“I'm coming back! Whoa. Teamviewer is not for me.”

Overall: I didn't appreciate them and switched to Teamviewer and it was the worst experience EVER. There's no way the Teamviewer reviews are real.

Pros: It is solid, affordable, they are a decent organization.

Cons: Sometimes it seems hard for my clients to use, but I'm going to figure that out.

Reasons for Choosing RemotePC: Because they are honest and the value for dollar is great.

“Product doesn't work when computer sleeps”

Overall: Great idea; poor execution.

Pros: I like the idea of accessing my office computer when traveling.

Cons: Remote PC does not work when the home computer is "sleeping" which I believe is the default for most computers. Someone from Remotepc helped me configure the application when I purchased it. They were very helpful but forgot this important fact. It would have been nice for someone to tell me this at the outset. I have called at least 4 times while on business trips with the complaint that I am not able to access my office computer. NO ONE suggested that I need to disable the "sleep" mode until today. I am very angry that this was not explained up front or on any of the prior calls. While I paid a reduced "trial" fee, it was an entire waste of money.

“Remote working made possible for everyone”

Overall: In the short time that we had to switch our co-workers to allow them to work remotely at home, RemotePC really became a clutch tool since we were able to deploy it fast, and also because it had such a low learning curve, people who wasn't so computer savvy were able to work seemlessly.

Pros: We were pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to deploy this software to all of our users when we had to switch to a remotely operated work environment. Even people who weren't pro computer users, were able to easily login and start controlling their work PCs at home.

Cons: If there was a drawback, I would say the speed, but this is the problem with all remote desktop softwares. With RemotePC, you can at lease control it in a way so that you can slightly reduce the visual quality if you need the boost of speed.

“Unpredictable functionality”

Overall: Frustrating.

Pros: Price. Ease of use and the first 15-30 minutes seems ok. Setup is also easy.

Cons: I use a Mac platform-updated to latest always. I use Indesign. After about 15-30 minutes of use, the functionality changes. Sometimes I can click on a box to select it and deselect. sometimes that same action just keeps selecting boxes--text, images, etc. sometimes I can "save-as" for a document, sometimes I cannot even type the name of the new document into the "save as" field. Literally a crap shoot what starts not working first. Often have to either restart Remote PC, the connected computer, or the computer I'm connected from. It could not be more frustrating and customer service before this was not all that quick. Now with the virus... I may never hear from them.
